A physical meeting full of energy and enthusiasm!
We all met in Perugia, Italy, at VGA’s facilities for 1,5 day.
We discussed the objectives and went through the work packages that so far have started.
Work package 2 Surface functionalization. CNR has produced the samples with several different surfaces that will be tested in WP3. The samples were brought to Perugia for RISE to take back home.
Work package 3 Data-driven surface assessment and design. At Kristineberg, Sweden, Aalborg University and RISE have started the lab validation of the set-up for the data acquisition using an underwater camera setup. In June the test will start at sea, and we will be able to follow the growth of the biofouling on the samples with different surfaces.
Work package 4 Antifouling efficacy testing. The work is ongoing by Gothenburg University and RISE to establish sets of most relevant organisms of marine microfouling and macrofouling species and to establish routines to handle these in the laboratory.
The work packages that is about to start were also discussed.
Finally we had a tour at VGA‘s fascinating testfacilities.
